Day 4: Graduation

Officially completing my MA Degree on Social Projects and NGO Management

Hey everyone!

I am excited to share that I've officially completed my Master's Degree in Social Projects and NGO Management at İstanbul Bilgi University.

I undertook an array of informative courses, finishing with a cumulative GPA of 3.86/4. Though these courses were insightful, a significant part of the knowledge was made accessible through books and online resources, courtesy of our benevolent professors.

Courses include:

  • Civil Society Theory I

  • Project Development and Proposal Writing

  • Digital Strategy

  • Research Methods in Civil Society Studies

  • Humanitarian Crises and NGOs

  • Social Entrepreneurship

  • Collaboration With Volunteers and Management

  • Selected Topics in EU-Turkey Relations

  • Human Rights Activism II

  • Impact Measurement and Evaluation

However, beyond the coursework, the most enriching aspect of the program was the opportunity to learn from esteemed professors such as Nurhan Yentürk, Itır Erhart, Pınar Uyan Semerci, Emre Erdoğan, Turgut Tarhanlı, Mustafa Elvan Cantekin, Başak Akkan, Mete Konuralp, Ayşe Beyazova, Özge Onursal Beşgül, and guest lecturers Ayhan Kaya, Laden Yurttagüler, Işıl Bakır. I also had the pleasure of meeting Gözde Durmuş and Cem Demirayak.

Moreover, I was privileged to share this academic journey with an incredible cohort of classmates from various sectors and academic backgrounds. This led to creating lifelong friendships with Şükrü Altınsu, Fatıma S. Kavranoğlu, Özlem Gündüz, Helin Akyol, Sueda Çokadar, Aişe Nur Uğurlu, Elif Altun, Evgenia Logiotatou, Elif Cansu İlhan, Merve Nemutlu, Gizem Kendik Önduygu, Pelin Küney Ocak, Emre Yetim, and many more. (Apologies if I missed anyone - I've mentioned those I am connected with on LinkedIn.)

Stay tuned for more updates regarding my academic journey in my forthcoming newsletter!
