Day 9: 1 Tip I Would Give Someone Who Wanted To Get Started Writing Online

Join the Voyage of Writing: Discover Your Tribe

Created with DALL·E

Are you ready to dive into the world of online writing?

Through my years of experience in this field, I've learned some critical lessons. The journey of becoming a consistent writer is anchored in three fundamental aspects: mastering the craft of writing, fostering the discipline to write regularly, and identifying or choosing your topics.

So, here's my essential tip for those aspiring to follow a similar path:

Find Your Community / Create an Accountability System

Immersing yourself in a community is transformative.

My path led me to the Ship30 community, guided by Dickie Bush and Nicolas Cole. Prior to this, I had explored various writing courses and communities, but none really resonated with me. It wasn't until I joined this particular community that everything clicked.

One of the real game-changers, as Ken Robinson points out in his book "Finding Your Element," is discovering your tribe. Finding the right community is like unlocking a treasure trove of support, learning, and motivation. It becomes an accountability system that nurtures your growth, challenges you, and keeps you aligned with your writing goals.

Also, one question: What's your favorite community where you feel a sense of belonging? Comment below!
