First Week of June, Updates and Plans

Back to İstanbul and a few updates regarding university and business

Selim in İstanbul at Sabiha Gökçen Airport

Hey friend,

I hope you are doing well.

I’m back in Turkey. I was in İstabul the last few days, but I’m going to my home city, Konya, tomorrow morning!

I’ll be spending a few days before, during and after the Eid holiday there, if anybody is around, I’d be glad to meet!

University

I have almost completed my courses in my master’s program, so the first year is finished except for 1 project and 1 report, I am doing my best to complete them ASAP with my friends in our group.

In the next semester, I’ll be following the work placement track and doing my humanitarian consultancy project, which will also be counted as part of my master's program. This is an amazing opportunity. I’ll provide more information on the next issues.

Next year, I’ll also be writing my thesis, which will be on the effectiveness of the humanitarian sector, particularly humanitarian professionals and organizations. If you’d like to follow along my thesis journey, you can check my second newsletter, Effective Humanitarian.

Business

As I mentioned above, I’m just starting my consultancy project for a humanitarian organization; once I’m clearer on the path and have more time, I’ll share a detailed post on this project, hopefully in the next two weeks.

On the newsletter and educational email courses side, I’m working on completing one project, I’ll share once we complete it. In the meantime, I’m trying to finalize my own email course on newsletters as well, you can sign up for the waitlist here: https://startyournewsletter.today/

Video&Youtube,

I started a new challenge this month: publishing one short video daily.

In the last 10 days, I published one short video on LinkedIn and Instagram Reels. You can find them here on LinkedIn and Instagram; I’ll repost them on my YouTube channels in Turkish and English.

This is a work in progress, I would be glad to get your questions, comments, and suggestions.

Books

I’m reading Robert Green's Mastery for our Formula for Value Creation book club (it’s in Turkish). You can find more information and join us here.

I’m also waiting for the book Getting Things Done for Teams by David Allen. As I mentioned previously, we have developed an email course for GTD in Turkish; if you are interested in productivity and personal development, I think you’d find this course interesting and useful: https://stressizuretkenlik.com/

Running & Fitness

Since I left Germany, I haven’t gone to the Gym or run. I really liked following the training on the Nike Training Club app, but because of these travels, I could not have a proper routine either. I am still trying to walk at least 10,000 steps daily to at least protect my form, but I hope to get back and do more soon.

Thanks for reading,

Let me know if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions by simply replying to this e-mail.

Have a happy and healthy day and a week!

Regards,

Selim
